Choosing Well: Relationships and Sexual Health

Choosing Well is a program designed to educate teachers to deliver content\u00a0around healthy relationships and\u00a0overall sexual health to young people in years 7 \u2013 10. The program aims to explore ways of identifying healthy relationships and navigating those that are unhealthy. Participants will gain knowledge of consent, sexuality, sexual health, conception and contraception, within a safe, positive and accepting environment. The Choosing Well program provides participants with strategies to manage sexual health, ways of seeking support and an educational booklet for future reference with activities and information. This program uses a variety of activities and methods to ensure student learning including a detailed visual presentation, discussions, activities and booklet. This program can be used in conjunction with curriculums and syllabus\u2019s to achieve student wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n

Students will develop a greater understanding of how to manage their relationships, including the relationship with themselves, plus enhanced decision making skills in relation to relationships and sexual health. This program is a valuable resource for young people at a time where peer relationships are central.<\/p>\n\n
